Our area of operations here at the SF District is comprised along the California Coast from the south-central coastal region near Big Sur to just south of the California/Oregon border.
Commanded by a uniformed Army officer, the District is comprised of mostly civilian personnel organized into divisions, including Programs and Project Management, Engineering and Technical Services, Operations and Readiness, Regulatory, and Resource Management.

Take a field trip from 1455 Market Street to the Embarcadero via MUNI to review the District's Pier 36 Demolition Project and discuss environmental & engineering aspects of the project. Meet with representative from Port of San Francisco if possible and SF District engineer assigned to the project. Return to HQ Bldg and have lunch with the District commander, COL John Morrow.
