We are California's oldest state park, established in 1902. We have nearly a million visitors a year. We have some of the tallest trees in the world, the Coast Redwood. We are open year-round, and provide camping, hiking and activities for visitors all year.
Ranger; Maintenance; Environmental Scientist; Interpreter/Naturalist
Students will get an opportunity to meet four professions that work in State Parks. We'll learn what a California State Parks Peace Officer (Ranger) job entails; who an Environmental Scientist is and what they do to protect the habitat, plants and animals in our parks; how Maintenance is vital to the running of our parks; and we'll go on a walk with an Interpreter/Naturalist to learn about education in our park.
